
Jessica Mateo
Jessica Mateo is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst dedicated to helping children and families build meaningful skills that support long-term growth. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from High Point University before moving to Spain, where she lived in both Barcelona and Madrid as an English Language Assistant. While abroad, she completed a master’s in bilingual and multicultural education at the Universidad de Alcalá, deepening her understanding of language, culture, and inclusive education.
Since entering the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in 2017, Jessica has been drawn to its unique blend of science, creativity, and everyday impact. She became a BCBA in 2022 and has worked with children and young adults across diverse developmental profiles, always using a naturalistic, person-centered approach.
Her practice centers on what matters most to each client and family, with a focus on skills that foster independence and lasting change. Known for her curiosity and flexibility, Jessica approaches behavior change as a collaborative process built on trust, experimentation, and problem-solving. A fluent Spanish speaker, she especially values working with Spanish-speaking families to ensure that care is accessible, affirming, and effective.
